Olive Young's Anpanman Collaboration: What's in It, Where to Buy It and When It Ends
Olive Young's Anpanman collaboration runs from October 1 to October 31 in every Olive Young store in Korea, so as of October 24 there is one week left. It covers 77 limited items from more than 30 brands, from skincare and makeup puffs to oral care and snacks, and many are also listed online, on Olive Young's Korean mall or its global site. Most beauty pieces are the regular product in character packaging, often bundled with a mirror, keyring or pouch.
How Long the Anpanman Collaboration Runs
The short answer: until October 31. Olive Young's official campaign poster dates the collaboration from October 1 to October 31, and it runs across every Olive Young store in Korea rather than in a single flagship. Writing on October 24, that leaves one week.
The scale is what sets this one apart. According to reports in Herald Economy and Dealsite, the collaboration covers 77 items from more than 30 brands, licensed in Korea through Choirock Contents Company. The range is wider than beauty: basic skincare, hand wash and foot shampoo, mouthwash and toothpaste, false lashes and makeup brushes, loungewear and underwear, plus snacks and chilled food. Each category got its own character. Baikinman fronts the oral care, Dokin-chan and Kokin-chan (sold in Korea as Jjalang-i and Ddalang-i) decorate the beauty tools, and Anpanman himself leads the food and the main displays.
It follows Olive Young's Pokémon tie-up in May and its Sanrio collaboration in August, so if the character-pack format feels familiar, that is why. If you are planning a longer Korea trip around the store's promotions, our guide to Olive Young sale dates explains how the big sale weeks fall across the year. The Anpanman packs are a separate, month-long campaign, not one of those sale weeks.
The Beauty Pieces: Puffs, Lashes, Brushes and Mirrors
For a beauty shopper, the most collectible part of the line is not the skincare but the tools. These are the pieces where the character is the product rather than a sticker on the box, and they are what Olive Young's global site groups under "Anpanman x Beauty Essentials."
Studio17 has the largest tool range: a Pang Pang Big Puff in Anpanman and Shokupanman designs, a six-piece puff set, an eye makeup brush set and a face-wash headband set, the last three decorated with Dokin-chan and Kokin-chan. Fillimilli's Picnic Day Edition includes a ten-piece set of mini puffs and blush puffs in a jar, plus a three-tier storage organizer. Banila Co put its Curly Studio no-glue false lashes into Anpanman Edition boxes in three styles, and the set adds a tweezer, a cap holder and a character hand mirror chosen at random.
Mirrors turn up again and again as the bonus. Dr.G's Brightening Peeling Gel set comes with an Anpanman hand mirror, and Uriage's limited feminine-wash set comes with a comb mirror and a pouch featuring Dokin-chan and Kokin-chan. If a hand mirror is the souvenir you are after, it can make more sense to take it as a gift with a product you already use than to buy a standalone accessory.
How to Tell a Limited Pack From the Regular Product
In Korean stores, a bundled promotional pack is called a gihoek set, roughly a "planned set." Most of the skincare in this collaboration takes that form: the familiar product in character packaging, with extra volume or a small gift attached. The reports and product listings describe new packaging and bundled extras, and none of the skincare pieces is presented as a new formula.
Dr.G's Brightening Peeling Gel set, for example, pairs a 120g tube with a 60g tube, adds a 2ml sample of its Red Blemish soothing serum and the Anpanman mirror. Its Green Deep Pore Cleansing Balm set holds two 100ml jars and an Anpanman memo pad. Bringgreen's tea tree cica toner pads come as a 90-pad jar with a refill and a portable pad case. On the oral-care side, Dong-A Pharmaceutical's Duobuster mint balls come with a Baikinman or Dokin-chan keyring, chosen at random.
Three checks help at the shelf. First, look for "Anpanman Edition" in the product name and the character on the outer box; the regular version often sits nearby in plain packaging. Second, turn the box over. Korean cosmetics carry a full ingredient list on the packaging, so you can compare the limited version with the regular one in seconds. Third, check what the gift actually is. Some bonuses come with every purchase, some are random, and some go only to the first buyers while stock lasts, as the "first come" badge on the Bringgreen listing shows.
Skin Notes Before You Fill the Basket
Character packaging makes it easy to buy on impulse, so a few practical points are worth keeping in mind.
Watch for doubled exfoliation. A peeling gel is an exfoliating step, and many toner pads are designed for regular use. If your routine already includes an acid toner, retinoid or exfoliating pad, adding a second exfoliating product every night can leave skin tight or stinging. Introduce one new product at a time and space exfoliating steps out. Patch-test on the inner arm or jawline first if your skin reacts easily, and stop using anything that burns.
Puffs need rotation. A makeup puff collects oil and product with every use, so a multi-piece set is most useful when you treat it as a rotation: wash puffs regularly with a gentle cleanser, let them dry fully and replace them once they lose their bounce or start to smell. Store them dry, not sealed damp in a jar.
False lashes stay outside the eye. No-glue lashes still rely on an adhesive band. If your eyelids react to adhesives or your eyes are irritated, skip them for now, and never share lashes or tweezers. If you are visiting Korea for a skin treatment, start any new products after your skin has settled, and our list of Olive Young skincare to buy after a clinic visit covers the gentler basics.
Where to Buy It Before October 31
In Korea, the collaboration runs in every Olive Young store, with Anpanman-themed displays and large posters, so you do not need to visit a flagship to find it. Stock differs from store to store, though, and a small neighborhood branch may carry only part of the 77 items. Larger stores in busy shopping areas may carry more of the range. Popular pieces sell out unevenly, so if one item matters to you, look for it early in your trip rather than on your last day.
Online, brands including Dong-A Pharmaceutical and Rael say their editions are sold both in stores and on Olive Young's Korean online mall. Olive Young's global site also runs an "Anpanman x Beauty Essentials" page, with a listed window from October 15 at 5 p.m. to midnight at the start of October 31, Korea time, and as of October 24 its search shows around 40 Anpanman listings. Shipping and stock vary by country, so check before you plan around a specific item.
Three stores add a food pop-up on the third floor: Olive Young N Seongsu, Myeongdong Town and Busan Nampo Town, with tastings of the collaboration snacks and drinks. If you are heading to the first of these, our Seongsu-dong walking guide maps the rest of the neighborhood's pop-ups. After October 31, the campaign ends; some leftover stock may stay on shelves for a while, but do not count on it.
Dr. Beau's Note
A sensible way to shop a character collaboration is to start from your existing routine, not from the character. If the cleanser or sunscreen you already trust has an Anpanman pack, the bundle can be worth it and the mirror is a bonus. If a hand mirror is persuading you to try a new exfoliant a week before a flight, that is a decision your skin will feel more than your suitcase will.
Choose the tools for collecting and the skincare for your skin. This note is general information, not medical advice; if a product irritates your skin, stop using it and see a dermatologist.
