What Time Does TREASURE's SHOCK Come Out? The Single, the Sound and the Ten Members
TREASURE's digital single "SHOCK" comes out today, November 2, at 6 p.m. KST (9 a.m. UTC) on Korean and global streaming services. YG Entertainment describes it as a hard-hitting hip-hop track that continues the all-hip-hop direction of June's mini album NEW WAV, performed by the group's ten members: Choi Hyun-suk, Jihoon, Yoshi, Junkyu, Yoon Jae-hyuk, Asahi, Doyoung, Haruto, Park Jeong-woo and So Jung-hwan.
What Is SHOCK, and When Does It Come Out?
"SHOCK" is a new digital single from TREASURE, the YG Entertainment boy group, and it arrives today, Monday, November 2, at 6 p.m. Korea Standard Time. That means the morning is for waiting and the drop comes in the Seoul evening. In YG's announcement, the single is named for one song, "SHOCK," rather than a multi-track album, so this is a focused release built around a single title track.
The date first came from YG's executive producer Yang Hyun-suk, who laid out the label's plans in a "FROM YG" post on the company's official blog on October 14. He called "SHOCK" a song with a powerful hip-hop sound and said it opens what he described as TREASURE's full-fledged second act, with activity planned to carry on into 2027.
The first teaser followed on October 26 on YG's official channels. It is a mood piece rather than a performance clip: lightning splits a storm of smoke, chunks of debris fly up off a wet, glittering floor, and a chant of "SHOCK, SHOCK" loops underneath. The film ends on the single's spiky, glitched logo with the release stamp "2026.11.02. 6PM KST," which is the clearest official confirmation of the time.
If you are outside Korea, 6 p.m. KST on November 2 converts to:
- 9 a.m. in London and 10 a.m. in Paris or Berlin
- 4 a.m. in New York and 1 a.m. in Los Angeles (US clocks moved back on November 1)
- 4 p.m. in Bangkok and Jakarta, 5 p.m. in Beijing, Manila, Taipei and Singapore
- 8 p.m. in Sydney
From NEW WAV to SHOCK: The Hip-Hop Turn
To hear "SHOCK" in context, start with NEW WAV, TREASURE's fourth mini album, released on June 1. It was the first TREASURE record built entirely from hip-hop: four tracks, "IF I" as the title song, followed by "ZOOM ZOOM," "NALLY-NA (HYUNHAYO)" and "DANGER." Until then the group had been known as much for bright, melodic pop as for its rap line, so a full hip-hop EP was a deliberate reset.
The reset landed. NEW WAV sold more than a million copies in its first week, "IF I" won on Korean music shows, and the group took the album on the road with a fan-concert run that opened in Seoul and moved on to Japan. The label released performance videos for "NALLY-NA (HYUNHAYO)" and "DANGER" as well, which is a fair hint at where the energy went: these are songs written for the stage, with chant-ready hooks and choreography that leans on attitude more than precision.
Yang Hyun-suk framed it the same way. In the October post, he said that starting with NEW WAV, TREASURE is going through the biggest change in its musical direction, and that "SHOCK" stays on that path. So if "IF I" and "DANGER" were the ones that pulled you in, "SHOCK" is meant as the next step rather than a swerve back to the earlier sound.
Who Is in TREASURE Now?
TREASURE has ten members. The group was formed through YG's survival show YG Treasure Box and debuted on August 7, 2020, with twelve members, and it has promoted as a ten-member lineup since late 2022. YG's official artist profile lists the current members with their dates of birth:
- Choi Hyun-suk, born April 21, 1999
- Jihoon, born March 14, 2000
- Yoshi, born May 15, 2000
- Junkyu, born September 9, 2000
- Yoon Jae-hyuk, born July 23, 2001
- Asahi, born August 20, 2001
- Doyoung, born December 4, 2003
- Haruto, born April 5, 2004
- Park Jeong-woo, born September 28, 2004
- So Jung-hwan, born February 18, 2005
Seven members are Korean, and three, Yoshi, Asahi and Haruto, are from Japan. The youngest, So Jung-hwan, turned twenty-one this year, so the whole lineup is now in its twenties, a long way from the teenage rookies of the debut era. That shift is part of why the harder hip-hop sound fits: ten grown voices, and stages built for all of them at once.
Where to Listen, Watch and See TREASURE Live
At 6 p.m. KST, "SHOCK" goes up on Korea's main music services, including Melon, Genie, Bugs, FLO and VIBE, and on global platforms such as Spotify, Apple Music and YouTube Music. The teasers have come through TREASURE's official YouTube channel and YG's official social accounts, and those are also where schedule updates appear, so following both is the simplest way to catch each stage as it is announced.
The first big stages are already on the calendar. TREASURE is on the Artist Day lineup for the Korea Grand Music Awards at Gocheok Sky Dome on Saturday, November 7, five days after release. Two weeks later, the group plays Chapter 1 of the MAMA AWARDS at Kyocera Dome Osaka on Friday, November 20. Award shows tend to set aside time for a fresh title track, so either night is a likely place to see "SHOCK" performed on a big stage, although set lists are rarely confirmed in advance.
If you are in Seoul this week and want to feel close to the comeback without a ticket, YG's headquarters sits in Hapjeong, a short walk from the subway and an easy pairing with Hongdae, and it is one of the stops on our K-pop day in Seoul. Plan it for the afternoon, and you can be in a Hongdae cafe with your headphones in by 6 p.m.
Sori's Note
What interests me most is the format. A digital single in November, five months after a mini album, looks less like a full new chapter and more like a sound check for the year-end stages. "SHOCK" lands five days before KGMA and eighteen before MAMA, and that chanted hook in the teaser is the kind of thing that only really makes sense with a dome full of people shouting it back.
So my advice is to judge it twice: once tonight on headphones, and again after you have seen it live on an award-show stage. Hip-hop like this is written for the second listen.
